Eighty-six percent of firearm deaths in Utah are suicides. Utah ranks in the top 10 in the nation in suicide deaths. Putting time and distance between a person at risk of suicide and a firearm may save a life.
QPR
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper, you will learn to:
• Recognize the warning signs of suicide
• Know how to offer hope
• Know how to get help and save a life
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS:
• Age 18 or older.
• Wasatch County resident.
• Completion of a qualifying suicide prevention or firearm safety course.
• Limit one per county resident.
